The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will reportedly be available in three color options: beige, black, and gray. The Galaxy Z Flip 4, on the other hand, will hit the market in four color options: gold, gray, light blue, and light violet — via @DSCCRoss.
Samsung had previously used the gold (Mirror Gold) color option for the original Galaxy Z Flip. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 didn’t offer a gold color option but made up for it — at least in the United States — through the Bespoke Edition, which lets customers mix and match colors in up to 49 combinations.
It’s unclear if Samsung will offer or expand upon the Bespoke customization service this year. But if it will, the gold color option should allow for some interesting combinations. It also remains to be seen if the gold Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be matte or have a mirror finish like the OG model.
Regardless, picking gold as a color for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 could be Samsung’s response to the Huawei P50 Pocket. Although, it’s not like the Huawei flip phone was any threat to Samsung’s flip phone series, given that it lacks UTG and an IP rating, has poor firmware support, and costs roughly 1.5x more than the Z Flip 3.
Color options for the rumored third Samsung foldable device for 2022 remain unknown. After all, the idea that Samsung could release a third foldable phone remains in question, but early evidence indicated that the company had at least entertained the idea.
Back to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, we’re also wondering if the upcoming device will have a two-tone color combination with a black cover screen, similar to the third model in the series. These finer design details will most likely leak ahead of the next Unpacked event, so stay tuned.
