The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a quad primary camera setup featuring an ultra-wide 12MP (f/2.2) camera with Dual Pixel AF; a 10MP (f/2.4) telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, Dual Pixel AF and OIS; and a secondary 10MP (f/4.9) telephoto camera with 10x zoom, Dual Pixel AF, and OIS.
A wide 109MP (f/1.8) main camera with OIS and PDAF completes the rear-facing system, while a 40MP (f/2.2) selfie camera with PDAF resides in the Infinity-O display cutout.
The primary 108MP camera is covered by what the company calls Super Clear Glass. Technically speaking, this is Gorilla Glass DX, and its application isn’t unique to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The first Samsung phones to use Gorilla Glass DX protection for the camera are the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Other specs, color options, and the S Pen
The leaked spec sheet mentions a 6.8-inch QHD+ (3080 x 1440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, an Exynos 2200 chipset, 8/12GB of RAM, 128/256/512GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra weighs ~228 grams and will be available in four color options: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Burgundy. And, of course, the S Pen is included in the render, the latter of which mentions an embedded holster for this iconic accessory.
The render also reveals a bit about the base Galaxy S22 model, such as the 6.1-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a weight of around 167 grams, and the color options Phantom Black, Phantom White, and Green. The image is cut, so there could be more than three colors.
Samsung should reveal the Galaxy S22 series in February, though at this point, with rumors of a delay floating about, it’s unclear whether the launch event is going to take place at the beginning or near the end of the month.
