The Galaxy A22 5G has a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. The 5G model is equipped with three rear-facing cameras instead of four. The setup consists of a 48MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP depth camera.
This new (to Brazil) 5G budget phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD by up to 1TB. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC.
Galaxy A22 5G is available in Brazil for under $500
The Galaxy A22 5G is one of the least expensive 5G phones available today. However, in Brazil, the A22 5G isn’t what we’d describe as ‘cheap.’ It costs BRL 1,999, which translates to around $430. This high price compared to most other markets is usually attributed to exorbitat taxes on imported consumer electronics. So, yes, although the Galaxy A22 5G isn’t cheap, other devices are even more expensive, which makes the A22 5G in Brazil a ‘budget device.’
Back to the official announcement, Galaxy A22 5G customers in Brazil can choose between two color options: gray and white. The 5G model costs roughly BRL 100 more than the LTE variant that debuted in Brazil last year.
We compared the Galaxy A22 LTE and 5G models before, and in essence, the LTE variant has better specs all around but obviously lacks 5G. If you don’t care as much about faster connectivity, you’re probably better off with the slighly less expensive LTE variant.
