Android 11 update reaches Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, yours to download now

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is receiving its first major operating system upgrade, release version P615XXU4CUBB, as of yesterday. Which is at least two months ahead of schedule. Samsung’s mid-range tablet has thus started transitioning to Android 11 some ten months following its international release. As of today, the firmware is only available in France for the LTE model.

It remains to be seen how long will this rollout take to be completed, and another unknown is whether it contains One UI 3.0 or One UI 3.1. While the former might seem like a safer bet for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, note that the Galaxy Tab S6 is currently in the process of receiving One UI 3.1, skipping One UI 3.0 entirely.

There’s no stopping this update machinery

In fact, the One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S6 has been spotted just yesterday, and it’s equally early to the Android 11 party. Based on that precedent, it shouldn’t be too big of a stretch to assume the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will be following in those footsteps and circumvent One UI 3.0.

To any of our readers who own a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, it would be much appreciated if you could chime in and clarify what exact One UI version is bundled with this OTA. In the meantime, what we do know is that the March 2021 security patch is definitely part of the package. You can check whether the new update is already available in your territory by launching Settings, tapping Software update, and then Download and install. Otherwise, full system images containing both the Android 11-based OS and the March security update can already be downloaded from our firmware archives, assuming you have a compatible Galaxy Tab S6 Lite model.
